Equipment Ramblings
Here you'll find the ramblings on photography related equipment that I
have had a chance to work with, and thus form enough of an opinion on
to actually write something. There are better sites out there with more
detailed information (like Digital Photography Review for example), but
people ask me questions, so I put this stuff here anyhow. In addition
to the ramblings list below, future equipment based ramblings should
include;
Canon EOS 10D (digital SLR camera body)
Canon 550EX Speedlite (shoe mount flash)
Some LowePro packs, and my new tripod, and some lenses I was able to
borrow...
Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM (lens)
(posted 08/25/04)
-- An expensive lens that I'd been interested in trying out ever
since I first heard about it... and recently I had a chance to shoot
with it for a couple of days. It has it's upsides and downsides, but
overall - Wow.
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM (lens)
(posted 05/17/04)
-- Not long enough for some people, and too long for others,
but for a wide variety of uses (most notably nature photography)
I'm finding it to be an excellent "staple" choice.
Image Stabilizer
(posted 03/27/04)
-- A handy function of some lenses, for hand-held shooting,
designated with an "IS" in the lens description. (example shots
included)
Nikon Coolpix 5700
(posted 02/20/04)
-- A nice little camera getting a little into the "prosumer" range.
More than a "point-and-shoot" photographer would necessarily need, but
it does have some nice features for it's size.
